Technical Difficulty

For some reason my posts have been saying their posted and then when I go to recheck it there not posted. Honestly don't know why it's happening even after I log out and back in on blogger. It's rather frustrating!

Tech Task

I was trying to think what would be an easy enough task for me to do. I'm still not the biggest fan of twitter but my housemates live on it. So I thought why not make a Twitter List with them and we can use it to share memes and other funny things on twitter.                                                             (Screenshot from my twitter) Thanks for Reading!

This week we were meant to read two of our peers work and give back some critical feedback. While also adding our own work into the doc shaun has open for all of us. I have been terrible with letting people read my work. I have asked one or two people in my course to read mine and give me feedback. I had forgotten to ask Shaun to add me to the list. I know feedback is important because what you read and someone else reads you have two different views and opinions. I will be adding my work to the doc tonight once I get in contact with shaun. This semester is just flying by.                                                                                  ( Image ) I was told I have had a few spelling mistakes throughout my doc. Honestly i'm not surprised. I have tried to implement any feedback i've gotten into my document. I almost forgot today to even post this blog. I'm glad I have a two week break to hopefully catch up on any work I need to or possibly any extra credit.

Google Timer! Did you even know that was a thing because I didn't. Honestly I didn't realize google could do as much as it can. Feel a little stupid saying that. You can little do it in a matter of seconds and its not complicated what so ever. You just google 'Timer:2 minutes'. Whatever time it is you want.  (screenshot) Thanks for Reading!

Unity Tutorial

Image
One of the last Unity Tutorials. As I said before I'll be honest I could of put more effort into unity this semester. I do feel like it was easier than last semesters unity tutorials once I spent some time at them. It was touch and go at some stages with things crashing for me.  One of the parts for this week was called Audio. It essentially allowed you to add audio to different game objects. It's honestly a really nice touch to a game.                                                                (Screenshot of script) I do think getting to read the instructions on how to do the game instead of watching videos has definitely been easier. I guess that's all from me now with the Unity Tutorials.  Thanks for Reading!

For this week we we were meant to write our introduction and then our conclusion. I feel maybe I've done some of this the wrong way around. I always find when doing research even for myself I want an idea what it is i'm looking for. Even when I picked my title for what I'm writing about. I wanted it to be something I was genuinely interested in. It is something I would like to have some general knowledge on that stands to me in some sort of way.  I found the videos left for us to watch very useful. One thing that stood out was the difference between a introduction and a conclusion. An introduction prepares the reader for what they are about to read but the conclusion is a brief review on what they have learnt. This is something even in secondary school I would find hard to properly state within a conclusion.                                                                     Image/Link of video Thanks for Reading!

This week I gave it a go to learn how to do a Google Reverse Image Search. It was actually alot simpler than I imagined.  Down below you'll see an image I had.  You then look up 'Google Images'. From there you click on the camera icon to search by image. You can either search from a URL or you can upload an image you may have on your desktop.  Then you should be able to find the results from your image.  Thanks For Reading!

I have been finding the readings hard. I like the writing element It's mostly been finding the research. I know it's important to get feedback. I feel weird with the idea of people reading something I've written with the fear it may look shocking.  I know for this weeks task we were to be put into a 'Triad' and get feedback from 3 other people. I sort of realized this later into the week and me being terrible with checking my slack. I did ask for some feedback off of 3 people one within my college course and two and home and some of the feedback I got was to add more flare to my intoduction and paragraphs. To really emphasise what it is that they will learn without giving away too much of the research initially. Here's hoping I can improve on this.  Thanks for Reading!

Unity Tutorial

Unity Tutorial 6 wasn't as bad as I expected. Some of the tutorials have been a bit touch and go for me. at one point I had done a chunk of the unity tutorials but got extremely bad at even doing my blog posts. Don't know what it is about my motivation this semester. Knowing know that there aren't many unity tutorials left to do this semester is a big bonus.  I did find the unity tutorials I did this semester weren't as bad as the ones we had to do last semester. I do find it easier to read the step by step instructions as opposed to watching a video. I found that alot more time consuming.  One of the parts for this weeks tutorial was Visual Styling. It allowed you to be able to see the characters health during the game. It meant you lost health if you got in contact with an enemy and you gained health when picking up the health collectable.                                                                  ( Screenshot from unity) I did find it good then adding dialog a

Reading 'Doing'

Image
During this week I had to discover themes within  my Annotated Bibliography. I have been finding these reading tasks harder than what we did last semester. This part I didn't find as time consuming as other times. At first I was unsure how to proceed with doing it but I felt with the video in the class website it helped a-lot.   Themes I discovered:  Red: Purpose/Unpurposeful  Green: Games for leisure or instrumental  Orange: Meta Analysis  This week had been extremely hectic. I feel like I keep trying to catch up with myself and it can be a little overwhelming. There is more work I need to add to my research but it is just a matter of sitting down and giving myself the time to do that. Hopefully next week I can be more organized.  Thanks for Reading!

Unity Tutorial 5

Image
During the Unity tutorial this week I found it hard. I've been finding it difficult to motivate myself with college work in general this semester. I found  with this tutorial I had issues with unity itself crashing.                                                          (Screenshot from the game) I like how in this game 'Ruby's Adventures' that the whole point of the game is to go and fix the robots that had become broken and initially i couldn't even figure out why unity was crashing. I did struggle with some of the coding for this and did feel it was rather time consuming. I feel in general the unity tutorials usually are. After having last weekend doing GameJam and then jumping onto another unity tutorial I feel a little overwhelmed. I did enjoy parts of this game like the above photo sorting the robots. This was defenitely something new and i'm glad I got to learn it.  Thanks for Reading!
